Okay, no two ways about it, this is an awesome approach to the You’re Next trailer.
For those who fell asleep through the entirety of 2013, you may have missed a real winner. Adam Wingard’s nod to old school terror – wrapped up in a home invasion package – You’re Next was a blast. Loaded with creative kills, kooky character chemistry and an assortment of genre familiars, old and new, it was a winner out of the gate (maybe that’s not entirely accurate, as the film, shot in 2011 did admittedly take a full two years to see a commercial release).
Now Youtuber Sean Johnson has given the trailer his own brand of homage, by transforming it into an old schoolesque trailer. The trailer actually looks like a mashup of the 70s and 80s, though Johnson’s branded this one a 80s retro trailer.
70s, 80s… who gives a damn – this looks awesome!
