Some of the most compelling horror movies of 2016 were also total mind-benders. I, personally, love a film that keeps me thinking long after the end credits roll. I also appreciate movies that can have multiple interpretations; I don’t need every detail and/or plot point handed to me on a silver platter. But for many Horror Freaks, enjoyment of a movie experience goes hand-in-hand with truly understanding the filmmakers’ intentions.
When perplexed, the internet is a great resource for figuring things out—including confusing horror movie endings. Videos on YouTube can be especially compelling, considering theories are presented along with screenshots and specific scenes. It absolutely helps solidify disparate ideas when it comes to getting to the bottom of, well, WTF is going on!
