Just about everyone knows about Epic Rap Battles of History by now; the web series that pits historical figures against fictional creations is one of the Top 40 most subscribed YouTube channels, and we even featured their release of Edgar Allan Poe vs Stephen King. While it’s definitely entertaining (not to mention educational), there are slim picking for horror fans; besides the previously mentioned Poe vs King, one pitting Jack the Ripper against Hannibal Lecter might be the only one to scratch our particularly morbid itch.

Luckily, ERBoH has inspired other filmmakers to create similar throw-downs, and many of them are definitely genre aficionados. Artist JMB, for example, has a twisted mind, macabre wit, and serious microphone skills to pay the bills! While most of his battles feature Creepypasta characters fighting against more mainstream counterparts, the one below featuring Jack the Ripper vs The Zodiac Killer in a no-holds-barred lyrical massacre really strikes a chord.
What makes the battle between Saucy Jack and Zodiac so apropos is that neither villain was ever captured, making them enduring figures in serial killer lore. It’s also good timing, with David Fincher’s procedural horror Zodiac, released in 2007, arriving on Netflix next month. Bone up on the more sinister corners of history’s mysteries, and have a head-bobbing good time while you’re at it!
About JMB: I’m just a mentally disabled man just trying to bring some light into this world.
Check out the trailer and synopsis for Fincher’s Zodiac below. If you’ve never seen it, consider it a must-see when it hits Netflix in June.
Official Synopsis: In the late 1960s and 1970s, fear grips the city of San Francisco as a serial killer called Zodiac stalks its residents. Investigators (Mark Ruffalo, Anthony Edwards) and reporters (Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Downey Jr.) become obsessed with learning the killer’s identity and bringing him to justice. Meanwhile, Zodiac claims victim after victim and taunts the authorities with cryptic messages, cyphers and menacing phone calls.
