Michael is back to slash people in Haddonfield, Pinhead is being rebooted in the Hellraiser franchise and Jason is in almost literal hell due to the Victor Miller lawsuit, but what over the other heavy hitter in the slasher genre?
Well according to a report from Bloody Disgusting, the Wes Craven estate has begun the arduous task of bringing Freddy back from the dead as they are actively taking pitches for a new A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET!
Details are sketchy right now but range from a feature film to a concept for a possible HBO Max series.
Remember, SpectreVision’s Elijah Wood and Daniel Noah had expressed a want to produce a new NOES but they could really go any direction they felt would better the franchise as a whole. And sadly unlike Friday the 13th, there is no real legal litigation that is tying up the Springwood Slasher from hitting our screens in the future.
