Shane Black may have pulled a bit of a bait and switch when he promised fans a trailer for The Predator would arrive by mid-April only to walk it back, clarifying that only attendees of CinemaCon would have that privilege. Grr… Still, with CinemaCon wrapping this week, it can’t be much longer until we get our first look in years at the intergalactic game hunters first introduced in 1987.
Whoops — the teaser that drops this month is for Cinemacon only… THEN it goes to theaters. My bad. Patience. Go rent INSIDIOUS: THE LAST KEY, meantime. Great stuff.

What we did get today, however, is an Official Synopsis for The Predator—and that’s just fine!
Official Synopsis: “From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.”
The Predator’s sizable ensemble cast includes Thomas Jane, Jake Busey, Trevante Rhodes, Boyd Holbrook, Jacob Tremblay, Olivia Munn, Keegan-Michael Key, and Augusto Aguilera (and not Arnold Schwarzenegger *wink*wink*). Look for it in US Theaters beginning September 14th.
