Month two of my Horror Pack subscription produced more treasures. That’s important, as you never know just what you’ll get when you sign up for these mystery box services. Some are great (I’ve been very pleased with Horror Block and Box of Dread) while others are a bit of a letdown (I’ll refrain from throwing anyone under the bus), so to see that Horror Pack already has consistency on its side comes as a real comfort.
As was the case last month I’ll provide you with a rundown of each film, images of the discs and price points according to Amazon. That should be enough to encourage you to give Horror Pack a try; it’s worth your hard earned cash.
Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines (Unrated) – Blu-ray/DVD Combo: $4.50

Fighting for her sanity, Sandy must unlock a dark secret from her own past before it’s too late.
House of Fallen Synopsis: A mysterious group known as “The Twelve” makes war with the Grigori…fallen angels who walk the earth. House of Fallen is loosely based on the Book of Enoch.
Red Hook Synopsis: Ten years after witnessing her older sister’s brutal murder, Jenny Traylor leaves her hometown in North Carolina to start her freshman year at the University of New York City. Still traumatized by her sister’s death and struggling with crippling agoraphobia, Jenny tries to cope with the overwhelming city and figure out her new life. When Jenny’s over-enthusiastic Resident Advisor organizes a Welcome Week scavenger hunt, Jenny is reluctantly persuaded to join the game. But as she and her new friends decipher the cryptic clues texted to their cell phones – clues that lead them through darker and increasingly remote parts of the city – it becomes terrifyingly clear how high the stakes have become. Someone is hunting for real.
Dream House – Blu-ray/DVD Combo: $6.87
Synopsis: Some say that all houses have memories. For one man, his home is the place he would kill to forget. A family unknowingly moves into a home where several grisly murders were committed…only to find themselves the killer’s next target. Successful publisher Will Atenton (Craig) quit a job in New York City to relocate his wife, Libby (Weisz), and two girls to a quaint New England town. But as they settle into their new life, they discover their perfect home was the murder scene of a mother and her children. And the entire city believes it was at the hands of the husband who survived. When Will investigates the tragedy, his only lead comes from Ann Paterson (Watts), a neighbor who was close to the family that died. As Will and Ann piece together the disturbing puzzle, they discover that the story of the last man to leave Will’s dream house will be just as horrifying to the one who came next.
Total Spent: $25
Total Value: $27.85
The savings weren’t remarkable this month, but the diversity of films is strong. Furthermore, rather than receiving four Blu-ray films, I received six, when factoring in the triple feature set. Of the six films acquired I’ve seen Dream House, 30 Days of Night: Dark Days and Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines. That leaves me with three new films to check out. Of the six total films acquired, I previously owned not a single one. We’ll definitely call that a win!
