When Andrew Lincoln, the who plays Rick Grimes on The Walking Dead, spoke to fans and reporters at Comic-Con a couple weeks back, he discussed his imminent departure from the show. Yes, if you haven’t heard, this will be the last season for Rick, who’s been the series’ mainstay since Day One. In an attempt to retain an element of surprise regarding the character’s final fate, he suggested Rick might walk off into the sunset alive, similar to have Lennie James’ Morgan swaggered off to slay zombies somewhere else.
Does he think we’re idiots? Whereas Morgan was a broken man without anything to ground him, Rick is the leader of a strong coalition. Sure, Carl’s dead, but he’s still got one kid alive—not to mention a smoking hot girlfriend with a katana. No way Rick is going to go from lauded hero to deadbeat dad, just so the actor can leave the show on a cliffhanger. Believe me, when Lincoln returns for Season 9 of The Walking Dead in October, he’ll already be a dead man walking.
Of course, this isn’t the first time those affiliated with The Walking Dead have treated its audience like idiots. While it’s rarely the actors’ faults, producers have pulled some questionable fast ones over the years—and many fans aren’t forgetting. Our friends at WhatCulture have assembled a video list of the Top 6 times The Walking Dead treated their fans like morons.
Have a watch and let us know what you think in the Comments section. If you can’t stream, the 6 time The Walking Dead treated its fans like idiots are listed below the video. After that, you can peep the extended trailer for The Walking Dead Season 9. Enjoy!

Based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman, this gritty drama portrays life in the months and years that follow a zombie apocalypse. Led by former police officer Rick Grimes, his family and a group of other survivors find themselves constantly on the move in search of a safe and secure home. But the pressure each day to stay alive sends many in the group to the deepest depths of human cruelty, and Rick discovers that the overwhelming fear of the survivors can be more deadly than the zombies walking among them.
