Apparently YouTube users were not happy with this ad for The Nun. The ad meant for horror movie lovers was also shown on unrelated videos, scaring the crap out of unexpecting viewers. The ad falls in violation of Youtube’s shocking content policy.
YouTube’s Violent and Shocking Content in Ads policy reads: “We value diversity and respect for others, and we strive to avoid offending or shocking users with ads, websites, or apps that are inappropriate for our ad network.” It goes on to specify that it doesn’t allow “promotions that are likely to shock or scare.”
The Nun will be in theaters on September 7.
The film is directed by Corin Hardy, written by Gary Dauberman (screenplay by), James Wan (story by) and stars Taissa Farmiga, Bonnie Aarons, and Charlotte Hope.
Synopsis: A priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate the death of a young nun in Romania and confront a malevolent force in the form of a demonic nun.
