The CW is continuing on in its mission to deliver high caliber horror to fans across the map. They’ve steadily been working at giving us a stronger as well as edgier product. The swing in momentum really changed with the arrival of the surprisingly entertaining iZombie (okay that’s not a hue shock, as the comic in which it is based on is top notch). Then came news that the new Friday the 13th series would land on the CW. And now we’re learning of yet another new series that will debut on the once watered down network.
Transylvania is set to deliver a rebirth of some of horror’s greatest and most recognizable villains, and it sounds as though we’ll also enjoy the strong-willed lead we always crave. It’s a promising project, and another piece of a compelling puzzle that the CW appears to be assembling. Don’t be shocked to hear of more new genre additions added to the network in the near future; there’s a change coming, and it could dramatically alter the opinions of the CW for a whole lot of different viewers out there.
The drama series is executive produced by Midnight Radio, the team of Jeff Pinkner, Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec and Scott Rosenberg. It will be written/executive produced by Hugh Sterbakov (Hell And Back).
Synopsis: The story follows a headstrong young woman in search of her missing father, who ventures from NYC to Transylvania where she teams up with a wrongfully disgraced Scotland Yard Detective, and together they witness the births of the most famous monsters and villains in history.
