There’s a 9th Saw film in the works, but we haven’t been talking much about it. The truth is, after the supremely disappointing 8th Chapter in the franchise, Jigsaw, dropped in 2017, I’ve pretty much put everything Saw-related out of my mind. It’s a shame, because Saw really was an amazing series in its earliest years, giving us a unique villain (Tobin Bell) and a successful formula for high-quality frights.

So what exactly went wrong with Saw? At what point did the franchise go astray? The folks at Reel Talk think it all comes down to the death of Detective Kerry (played by Dina Meyer) in Saw III.
