WARNING: Below There Be Spoilers!
Official Synopsis: Although the Losers were able to send Pennywise the Clown running at the tail end of It, there’s still a whole ‘nother round of demon-fighting yet to come when Chapter Two hits theaters. The film will revisit the group as they’re called back to Derry, Maine to fulfill their oath to battle It again, nearly three decades later. Director Andy Muschietti is expected to return for the sequel alongside screenwriter Gary Dauberman, and the film’s production is scheduled to kick off sometime this summer. Here’s what else we know about It: Chapter Two so far. Beware of spoilers…
Calling back the kids: As already mentioned, the young actors who played The Losers Club are expected to return to reprise their roles.
A new timeline: Since IT: Chapter 1 took place in the late 1980s, IT: Chapter 2 will take place in modern times (approximately the present).
Courting a cast: Though names are being bandied about, none of the adult counterparts of The Losers Club have yet been cast. Jessica Chastain is in talks to play Beverly Marsh, but nothing has been confirmed.
Other dimensions: IT: Chapter 2 is rumored to include high-concept, sci-fi elements that are part of Stephen King’s bestselling novel but excluded for 2017’s IT.
A grim return: The characters Stanley Uris and Mike Hanlon are traumatized by the events of the first IT.
Deleted scenes float: A deleted scene showing the fire set by the KKK at The Black Spot may be included in the sequel.
