Though we didn’t get it over Thanksgiving Weekend as originally announced, Eli Roth’s Death Wish remake hit theaters last night, receiving mixed but mostly positive reviews. It’s a straight-forward action/revenge saga, but it definitely toys with viewers towards the end; while this story’s over, it’s hinted that there may be more violent affairs in Paul Kersey’s future.
So why didn’t Kersey (Bruce Willis) kill the final attacker in the hospital elevator? Did Detective Kevin Raines (Dean Norris) figure out the truth about Kersey and, if so, does he plan on pursuing a case against him? And what was the point of Kersey making a shooting gesture towards the robber at the very end? Our friends at Looper break it all down, making everything crystal clear.
