2017 brought us IT, Gerald’s Game, and 1922; 2019 will bring us Pet Sematary and IT: Chapter Two—but that doesn’t mean 2018 will be a dead zone (pun intended) for content based on the novels and short stories of Stephen King. The bestselling Master of Horror has teamed up with Bad Robot’s J.J. Abrams for a series set to air on Hulu this summer.
As opposed to a single story or novel, Castle Rock will intertwine characters and events from a number of tales from King’s canon. The connection being the titular Castle Rock, a fictional town in Maine that serves as the setting for many of King’s most twisted creepers; the town is also adjacent to Derry, a place the infamous Pennywise calls home.

While the show has been in production for a while and we even saw a trailer months ago, we finally got a release date for Castle Rock last night. I got the 411 from Dread Central:
After what seems like a lifetime waiting, today Hulu announced that Castle Rock, the psychological-horror anthology series from J.J. Abrams and Stephen King, will premiere on July 25th. Not only that but the premiere will feature the first three episodes! And today we have an all-new teaser poster and trailer to celebrate.
Official Synopsis: A psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, Castle Rock is an original story that combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland.
From Stephen King and Executive Producer J.J. Abrams, Castle Rock is an original suspense/thriller — a first-of-its-kind reimagining that explores the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories. The series will star André Holland, Sissy Spacek, Bill Skarsgård, Melanie Lynskey, and Scott Glenn.
