The most infamous haunted house in American (the world?) has new owners. The residence at 112 Ocean Avenue in Long Island will forever be known (at least to Horror Freaks) as the demon-infested home of George and Kathy Lutz, the inspiration for the seminal horror movie The Amityville Horror (1979). Per TheWrap.com:
112 Ocean Avenue went into contract this week, according to real estate site Redfin, and while realtors Coldwell Banker Harbor Light won’t reveal details of the sale, Newsday is reporting that the seller bought the property in 2010 for $950,000, way below the asking price then of $1.15 million.
Fans of all things creepy and paranormal will be interested in knowing how long the new residents will stay!
In The Amityville Horror (Official Synopsis): Chiller about a family who is terrorized by supernatural forces when they move into a new house in New York State which was the scene of a recent mass killing and the home of an 18th-century satanist. When swarms of flies appear from nowhere and the pipes and walls begin to ooze slime and blood, they call on a local priest to exorcise the evil spirits.
