If you’ve already watched the trailer for Andrés Muschietti’s IT, featuring Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise, about 1000 times like I have (or even if you haven’t), may I suggest checking out Scary Clown Who Eats Kids; it’s a 5-minute Stephen King fan film that features a unique and disturbing interpretation of the evil, dancing clown. Keep in mind; this was produced in 2013, years before the current IT adaptation was even in the works. It just goes to show how many ways the nebulous Pennywise can manifest, depending on the depravity of the filmmaker at the helm.
Scary Clown Who Eats Kids reimagines a new Losers Club reuniting after one of them loses her daughter to a resurrected Pennywise. Their pledge to destroy the monstrosity from their youth brings them face to face with unfathomable terror.
Scary Clown Who Eats Kids was directed, shot, and edited by James Cawley and stars Jana Edgington, Andrew Johnson, Thomas McMinn, Sammy Edgington, Mario Deangelis, and Dave Edgington. Original music is provided by Randin Graves and professional level makeup FX come courtesy of Cawley and Brian Higgins.
