The writing’s been on the wall for a while now: Ben Affleck is clearly tired of being the whipping boy for Warner Bros failure to make a decent DC movie and will all but certainly not be returning to play Batman in the next Justice League. While a replacement can’t be considered until Ben’s retirement is official, the court of public opinion has someone in mind: Michael C. Hall.

Best known to horror fans as TV’s Dexter, Hall already has a connection to the character: He voiced Batman in the animated film Justice League: Gods and Monsters and the miniseries Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles, both released in 2015. Yahoo! put Hall on the hot seat recently, asking if he’d accept the job of Batman if offered.
Per Geek Rant:
Amanda Abbington told him that he’d make a great live-action Batman, and Hall was totally on board with that!
“I’m Batman, tell your friends about me. I love that, that was the Michael Keaton version. Well, thanks, sure – I’m all for that.”
I’m sure this talk will end up amounting to nothing, but it’s fun to talk about the possibility! It would definitely be an interesting casting choice. He already played a super dark hero of sorts in Dexter as a serial killer that killed bad guys, and Batman is a role that he might actually be able to pull off.
