Despite the fact that Alien: Covenant was a huge disappointment in 2017 (one of the biggest disappointments of the year for me, personally) Ridley Scott has been talking up a storm about his plans for the next installment in his Alien-prequel trilogy. We’ve been told to expect more of David (Michael Fassbender), Daniels (Katherine Waterson) and Tennessee (Danny McBride), and a storyline that finally connects to the front-end of Alien.
But is it all bullshit?
Reports that went unnoticed last September have bubbled to the surface, painting a very different picture of the Alien franchise’s future prospects. Apparently, a warehouse filled with props from Alien: Covenant was auctioned off, implying 21st Century Fox was in no hurry to make another chapter. More recently, the impending sale of Fox to Disney has many fans wondering if the Xenomorph is dead.
