One of the biggest question marks surrounding Alien: Covenant (the follow-up to Prometheus) is whether or not we’ll see Noomi Rapace return to the series. Well, we’re now learning, thanks to a recent interview between Screen Daily and Ridley Scott (who helmed the original Alien as well as Prometheus), that Rapace will indeed make an appearance in the much-discussed Alien: Covenant.
For those who loved Rapace’s work in the first Prometheus picture (I’m with you!), this rings as stellar news. However, when Scott breaks down Noomi’s involvement in the next film, things actually sound a little bit disappointing; don’t expect Rapace to front the film.
According to Scott, Noomi will have a “…minor part“, in the picture.
Bummer? Yes, we think so!
Just the same, it’s nice to hear that Rapace will indeed return to the franchise (she really is a fine, strong female lead). And knowing Scott and his secretive ways, a “minor part” could mean just about anything. Maybe Rapace has a cameo, and maybe she’s a focal player in the upcoming chapter.
We’ll find out on October 6th, 2017 when Alien: Covenant makes its way to theaters.
