Last week, we brought news that infamous Human Centipede mastermind Tom Six announced his next “vile, inhuman” film: The Onania Club. While revealing nothing about the film beyond cast members and the fact that the story takes place in Hollywood, looking closely at the poster suggests some very bizarre juxtapositions.
According to Encyclopedia.com: “Onanism is an archaic term for masturbation. … The term was coined in the eighteenth century when the anti-masturbation tract Onania was published in England, citing biblical authority to condemn the practice, which the author equated to sodomy (also a non-procreative sexual activity).”
The character on the poster is a variation of the Venus symbol. Wikipedia tells us: “It originates in Late Antiquity as an astrological symbol for the planet Venus (associated with the goddess Venus), and hence as alchemical symbol for copper. … The idea that the symbol represents the goddess’ hand mirror dates to the 19th century.”
The most interesting clues as to the content of The Onania Club come from the poster itself. In addition to cast members, it includes images of the Twin Towers on the morning on 9/11, along with other images of terrorist activities. It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if Six is looking to push the boundaries of common decency by sexualizing the most shocking act of violence in a generation.

The Onania Club stars Jessica Morris, Darcy DeMoss, Deborah Twiss, Karen Strassman, and Flo Lawrence. While there is no set release date at this time, Six hopes the film will drop sometime this year. Stay tuned for additional details as news emerges.
