SCREAM is a special kind of franchise. It’s one that has consistently helmed by the creators. Every film was directed by the late Wes Craven and all but the third one was written by Kevin Williamson. With the passing of Wes Craven in 2015 you’d think that the franchise has also seemingly come to an end, but Ghostface lives on!
Bloody-Disgusting is reporting that a fifth SCREAM film is in the works with Spyglass Media Group. The same group that has recently announced they are going to be teaming with David S Goyer to reboot the Hellraiser franchise.
Nothing is available in regards to plot or casting but signs seem to point to it following the show that was on MTV and VH-1 back in 2015. It will be interesting to see if they are able to continue the almost self aware nature of the original films.
