Thank the horror gods that be, the rest of the universe is righting the ship that’s beginning to feel perennially wronged by Netflix’s streaming service. While the popular VOD outlet has been in a major, major slump for the past four months, the rest of the world marches on. And the rest of the world is hearing our pleas for top notch horror. Enter February, 2016, a month loaded with insanely compelling genre releases.
The versatility you’ll find in this month’s lineup is absolutely absurd. From seasonal genre fare to hack and slash pics, anthologies to dark comedies, there truly is something for everyone this month. You may not be living on Netflix in February, but you’ll no doubt be making a few VOD purchases, and picking your rear end up off the couch to check out a few of these beauties!
All Hallows’ Eve 2 (February 2)
Alone on Halloween, a young woman finds a mysterious VHS tape on her doorstep—a tape that shows a series of gruesome and ghastly tales that appear to be all too real. But these terrifying glimpses of damned souls are not the only horrors that stalk her. A sinister, pumpkin-faced killer is using the videotape as a portal into our reality; and if he makes it through, this twisted trickster seeks only one “treat”: Blood.
Martyrs (February 2)
Ten-year-old Lucie flees from the isolated warehouse where she has been held prisoner. Deeply traumatized, she is plagued by awful night terrors at the orphanage that takes her in.
Her only comfort comes from Anna, a girl her own age. Nearly a decade later and still haunted by demons, Lucie finally tracks down the family that tortured her. The Lizzie Borden Chronicles (February 2)

Anger of the Dead (February 2)
In a world ravaged by a virus that turns people into cannibals, a pregnant woman (Alice) manages to survive. Alice, in the company of two other men, strives to reach an island untouched by the plague.
Meanwhile, a dangerous individual is on the trail of a mysterious girl, which causes Alice to realize that the Zombies are not her biggest and only threat.
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (February 5)
A zombie outbreak has fallen upon the land in this reimagining of Jane Austen’s classic tale of the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England. Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet (James) is a master of martial arts and weaponry, and the handsome Mr. Darcy (Riley) is a fierce zombie killer, yet the epitome of upper class prejudice. As the zombie outbreak intensifies, they must swallow their pride and join forces on the blood-soaked battlefield in order to conquer the undead once and for all.
The Pack (February 5)
In THE PACK, a farmer and his family must fight for their lives after a ferocious pack of feral wild dogs lays siege to their isolated farm.. Through a series of frightening and bloody encounters, they are forced into survival mode to defend themselves from the ravenous beasts and make it through the night.
Lilin’s Brood (February 5)
A “New Media” news coverage team (W.H.I.S.T.L.E.) is stranded near a beleaguered brothel in the middle of nowhere; recovered footage will reveal what happens when they encounter a group of women with a terrifying secret.
Southbound (February 5)
Weary travelers confront their worst nightmares — and darkest secrets — over one long night on a desolate stretch of desert highway in this spooky anthology that merges five tales of death and mayhem on the open road.
Mitch and Jack are on the run from their past when they turn up, blood-splattered, at a lonely roadside diner; an all-girl rock group called Siren must rely on the kindness of strangers when their tour van breaks down at the side of the road; a harried business-man is desperate for help from an unusual 911 operator in the aftermath of a car accident; a frantic gunman bursts into a bar demanding to know the whereabouts of a girl in a photograph; all hell breaks loose when masked men interrupt a family vacation.
Nina Forever (February 12)
A darkly comedic romantic horror story exploring love and grief, Nina Forever follows Holly as she begins a relationship with her co-worker Rob, who is grieving over the recent death of his girlfriend Nina from a motorcycle accident. Holly has fallen for Rob and is determined to help him though his grief. Yet, every time they make love, Nina appears… tangled, bloody, and still fixated on Rob. Holly doesn’t freak out and run – she can deal with the dead girl sharing their bed, their lives, their minds. If it’s what Rob needs, it’s what she’ll do, regardless of the consequences.
The Final Project (February 12)
Six eager students strike out to explore and record live footage of supernatural activity at an abandoned plantation, but one unsettled spirit gives them more than they asked for.
Cabin Fever (February 12)
A group of five friends are terrorized at their getaway cabin. A remake of the 2002 film, ‘Cabin Fever’.
Riddle Room (February 16)
Dr. Emily Burns is being held captive in a room with no idea as to how she got there. Determined to escape and return to her daughter and husband, Emily uncovers clues in the room that help explain what she’s doing there. As Emily aims to solve the riddles, she begins to realize the room may not be what it seems.
Plan 9 (February 16)
Plan 9 is the story of Nilbog, a small town with a big story: the beginning of an invasion! However, instead of lasers, spaceships, and epic force, these aliens have a different plan for the inhabitants of Earth: to resurrect the dead as their own army set with but one goal… to wipe out all mankind!
On this Halloween night only the townsfolk stand in the way of total domination. From the police department to those trapped in a convenience store, and even those trying to stay alive in the streets, this night will decide the fates of all who walk the planet and thought they were the top of the food chain.
The Witch (February 19)
Set in New England circa 1630, ‘The Witch’ follows a farmer who get cast out of his colonial plantation and is forced to move his family to a remote plot of land on the edge of an ominous forest rumored to be controlled by witches. Almost immediately, strange and unsettling things begin to happen-the animals turn violent, the crops fail, and one of the children disappears, only to return seemingly possessed by an evil spirit.
As suspicion and paranoia mount, everyone begins to point the finger at teenage daughter Thomasin. They accuse her of witchcraft, which she adamantly denies…but as circumstances become more and more treacherous, each family member’s faith, loyalty, and love will be tested in shocking and unforgettable ways.
Gods of Egypt (February 26)
Set, the merciless god of darkness, has taken over the throne of Egypt and plunged the once peaceful and prosperous empire into chaos and conflict. Few dare to rebel against him. A young thief, whose love was taken captive by the god, seeks to dethrone and defeat Set with the aid of the powerful god Horus.
Bigfoot vs. Zombies (February 26)
A scientist creates a toxic cocktail that is accidentally unleashed into the local population and a nearby police “body farm” – creating a small army of flesh-eating zombies – and only one creature of legend, a killer in his own right, can stop the growing hordes of the undead and save humanity.
