To refer to The Walking Dead as anything short of brilliant would be criminal. This is the brand that single-handedly reignited profound interest in the zombie subgenre (resulting in a whole new slew of movies, novels and comics). This is the show that consistently shines in the ratings department. These performers are the performers that draw thousands of awe-struck fans to conventions, where they happily wait in mile-long lines for the briefest of glimpses at onscreen rebel and off-screen heartthrob Norman Reedus.
The Walking Dead is awfully powerful, and somehow, the momentum hasn’t slowed in six seasons. If anything, fans are more intrigued than ever before by the current stance of The Walking Dead. And why wouldn’t they be? We’re on the cusp of meeting one of the greatest villains television will ever know in the insanely ruthless and always unforgiving Negan, the bad ass with a barbed wire wrapped baseball bat named Lucille.
AMC is well aware of the gold mine they have, and they’re working diligently to ensure the fans keep the series in mind, even during the off time. The season six mid-season hiatus is slowly shrinking as February 14th (ah, Valentine’s Day – how romantic!) inches closer. And a new look at the return episode, episode 6.09 is now available to check out.
There isn’t a ton of insanity to see, and of course we haven’t gotten a look at Negan (rumored to be debuting in the season six finale) yet, but we are seeing how the survivors of this post-apocalyptic nightmare are getting by without becoming meals.
Take a look at the latest sneak peek below.
Greg Nicotero will direct episode 6.09, “No Way Out”, which features all the familiar faces we’ve come to love, including Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Danai Gurira and of course, Steven Yeun.
