The indie psychological-horror Heredity premiered at Sundance last week, and easily took the majority of the buzz. It’s already being called this generation’s The Exorcist, which is an impressive comparison to say the least! But give the trailer a spin below and we think you’ll agree: Heredity looks scary as hell!

From creepy kids to hags and a haunting dollhouse complete with ghostly inhabitants, Heredity looks like a nightmare you can’t wake up from!
Official Synopsis: “When Ellen, the matriarch of the Graham family, passes away, her daughter’s family begins to unravel cryptic and increasingly terrifying secrets about their ancestry. The more they discover, the more they find themselves trying to outrun the sinister fate they seem to have inherited. Making his feature debut, writer-director Ari Aster unleashes a nightmare vision of a domestic breakdown that exhibits the craft and precision of a nascent auteur, transforming a familial tragedy into something ominous and deeply disquieting, and pushing the horror movie into chilling new terrain with its shattering portrait of heritage gone to hell.”
Heredity is directed by Kevin Newton and stars Adam Hughes, Anthony Firth, and Jillian Sims. We don’t have an exact release date yet, but we’ll keep you posted as details emerge. Stay tuned!
