Michael Jackson passed away in 2009, but 2017 may turn out to be the late King of Pop’s busiest year since his heyday. Last summer, we reported that CBS was working on a Jackson-themed animated Halloween special and just this weekend, a 3-D version of Thriller premiered at the Venice Film Festival with producers hinting more MJ projects are in the works.
Today, Page Six directed our attention to an announcement made via Jackson’s still-active Twitter account for yet another mysterious horror-themed project called Scream; check out the teaser below.
Late Sunday Michael Jackson’s Twitter account posted a short video advertising a project called “Scream.” No details about the project were shared — although John Branca, co-executor of the late singer’s estate, did offer some vague hints in an interview with Variety at the Venice Film Festival on Monday, where a 3-D version of Jackson’s 1983 “Thriller” video premiered.
“Now we have ‘Thriller’ 3-D, and two more announcements are coming up in the next couple of weeks,” Branca told Variety, declining to elaborate further. “Michael had an expression: ‘The quality goes in before the name goes on.’ So we are not ready to announce them yet.”
