The latest member of the ever-expanding ensemble cast for The Conjuring 2 spinoff The Nun is Ingrid Bisu, who will play Anca, described as a Romanian employee for a global consulting firm; she joins Demian Bichir as a priest, Taissa Farmiga as a nun, Bonnie Arrons as the demon nun Valak, Charlotte Hope, and Jonas Bloquet. The film is currently filming in Romania with a target release date of Friday, July 18th, 2018. Corin Hardy is directing from a script penned by IT scribe Gary Dauberman and franchise creator James Wan.

The story centers on a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania taking her own life, with a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows sent by the Vatican to investigate. Together they uncover the order’s unholy secret and confront a malevolent force in the form of the same demonic nun from The Conjuring 2.

Official Synopsis: In 1977, paranormal investigators Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine Warren come out of a self-imposed sabbatical to travel to Enfield, a borough in north London. There, they meet Peggy Hodgson, an overwhelmed single mother of four who tells the couple that something evil is in her home. Ed and Lorraine believe her story when the youngest daughter starts to show signs of demonic possession. As the Warrens try to help the besieged girl, they become the next targets of the malicious spirit.
