After the astonishing success of A Quiet Place, John Krasinski is the latest rising star of the horror genre. His directorial debut has already been greenlit for a sequel and speculation is running rampant regarding where and how the story will continue. Will we be reconnected with (what remains of) the Abbott Family, or will we be whisked off to a new location with a new cast of characters?
Deadline pressed Krasinski for details and got some dish.
Although Krasinski has not yet confirmed he will helm the next installment, he did touch on what he would like a sequel to explore. “The thing that I loved in the movie,” he said, “where my mind kept wandering as we were making it, was the question of who was on the other end of those fires, when the father lights the fire and in the distance, those other fires light up. How did those people survive? How did that old man survive?”
“In the extreme, these characters are going through, there’s no room to think about that. They’re there, there’s an old man who’s about to scream, they just have to deal with that. I think it would be interesting to see what’s going on elsewhere at this same time.”
Everything remains speculative until we get an official synopsis from Paramount. In the meantime, check out the trailer, review, and synopsis for A Quiet Place below. The film is currently awaiting Blu-ray/DVD/VOD distribution.
Official Synopsis: A family lives an isolated existence in utter silence, for fear of an unknown threat that follows and attacks at any sound.
