Things are really heating up in South Carolina on the set of Blumhouse’s Halloween reboot, which sees Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Castle reprising their roles as Laurie Strode and Michael Myers respectively. The film, directed by David Gordon Green, is chasing an October 19th release date in order to coincide with the 40th Anniversary of the original Halloween.

No pressure! To make things even hotter, Halloween mastermind and bona fide Master of Horror John Carpenter himself is headed to the set. The news was dropped by Castle via Twitter:

Official Synopsis: Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
Halloween is slated to arrive in theaters on October 19th; in addition to Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Castle, the actors who played Laurie Strode and The Shape respectively in John Carpenter’s Halloween, the cast of the reboot also includes Will Patton, Judy Greer, Ginny Gardner, Miles Robbins, Dylan Arnold, Drew Scheid, and Andi Matichak. The FX team includes Christopher Nelson and Vincent Van Dyke. The film is directed by David Gordon Green from a script he co-scribed with Danny McBride.
