Hopefully, he doesn’t run on a platform of slashing horny teenagers!
He was born Glenn Thomas Jacobs in 1967, but WWE fans know him best as Kane, the deranged “kid brother” of The Undertaker. Horror fans also know his as Jacob Goodnight, the hulking slasher at the center of the See No Evil franchise.
Just yesterday, we reported that Jen and Sylvia Soska (who directed See No Evil 2) would jump at another chance to work with Jacobs on a proposed follow-up called Three No Evil. Unfortunately, Kane may be busy for the four years, which is the average term-length for a city Mayor. That’s horror/wrestling fans: Jacob Goodnight is running for Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee!
I’d love to say I wish I could through my support behind the cultural icon; unfortunately, I don’t live in Tennessee—I’m also not a Republican.
Per USA Today:
WWE wrestler Kane, real name Glenn Jacobs, won a Republican primary race Tuesday in Tennessee, becoming the GOP nominee for the next mayor of Knox County. Jacobs, who edged Brad Anders by just 17 votes, will battle Democrat Linda Haney in the general election Aug. 2.
“Thanks to everyone who helped win this historic victory!!” Jacobs tweeted on Wednesday. “The people who cast a ballot for me, my great team, my wonderful volunteers. Looking forward to VICTORY in the general election!”
Of course, the WWE weighed in on Twitter:

In a world where “The Governator” is turning out to have been one of California’s most effective leaders and a reality-show host holds the highest office in the nation, I shouldn’t be surprised in the slightest that Jacobs is finding support among his constituents.
