Adam Robitel (who directed The Taking of Deborah Logan) has been attached to helm the James Wan/Leigh Whannell vehicle Insidious: Chapter 4, and he’s found his leading man: Josh Stewart is best known to horror fans for his turns in The Collector, The Collection, and The Neighbor.
Leigh Whannell wrote the screenplay; Lin Shaye will be returning as psychic warrior Elise Rainier. No one knows if Insidious: Chapter 4 will be a sequel taking place after the events of Chapter 2, or if it will be another prequel portraying Rainiers earliest ghostbusting days. Jason Blum, Oren Peli, and James Wan are producing, along with executive producers Steven Schneider, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, and Charles Layton.
Insidious: Chapter 4 will be released in October 2017, meaning it will go toe-to-toe with another Wan/Whannell vehicle: Saw: Legacy.
We’ll keep you posted as more details emerge.
