“Operation Overlord” was the Allies’ code name for the invasion of Normandy on June 6th, 1944 during World War II. Overlord is an upcoming historical thriller from J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions, slated to hit US Theaters on October 26th. The trailer just hit the net after thrilling crowds at San Diego Comic-Con; it looks like a Saving Private Ryan mixed with Re-Animator and a slash of The Thing.

On the eve of D-Day, paratroopers drop behind enemy lines to carry out a crucial mission for the invasion. As they approach their target, they soon begin to realize there’s more going on in the Nazi-occupied village than a simple military operation.
Overlord is directed by Julius Avery and stars Wyatt Russell, Bokeem Woodbine, and Pilou Asbæk.
