I wasn’t a huge fan of The Mummy franchise featuring Brendan Fraser, and I’m not a fan of Tom Cruise in general, but the first look at Universal’s upcoming reboot of the original The Mummy looks pretty damn cool! Producers dropped a teaser that packs plenty of intrigue into 15 short seconds; we’ve also got the film’s first official poster to show you below.
Universal has unwrapped a quick first look at Tom Cruise in summer 2017 tentpole, The Mummy. Dubbed a “new world of gods and monsters,” the pic is part of the studio’s return to the classic monster universe. In the teaser above, which folks can chew on until the full trailer is released Sunday, Sofia Boutella makes eyes — lots of them — as an ancient princess who is awakened from her desert tomb to the present-day, bringing with her the malevolence of a millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.
We’ll definitely bring you the full trailer when it drops next week. Stay tuned!
