Die! Sitter! Die! Rupert will at last receive an on-line release, offering up all of the gory retro-goodness so many of us have seen in the past two years as this award-winning short film blazed its way across several prestigious film festivals.
Well, now you’ll be able to take a look for yourself and understand and appreciate all of the “Baby Rupert” hubbub.
A brief synopsis from the film’s press release: “Alison Rothschild, a broke college dropout, thinks she is in for a simple night of babysitting. As the evening goes on, we come to realize that the baby she is caring for isn’t exactly what Alison had in mind. Her easy night turns into a grotesque experience from hell, and all she can do is fight to survive until morning.”
As you may or may not know, this short is part of an intended anthology feature film, simply titled Die! Sitter! Die!, and Rupert would end up being one of the included tales. While no details of the feature film’s progress are currently available, filmmakers/brothers Sam and Lee Boxleitner (yes, the sons of Tron‘s Bruce Boxleitner) have been taking meetings with several companies as they work toward bringing the full anthology to diaper-changing, baby-talking life.
The film found placement in a wide variety of film festivals, including Screamfest, NOLA Horror Film Fest, Atlanta Horror Film Festival and Filmquest — winning numerous awards as well.
The film will be released on The Boxleitner Brothers Youtube channel on July 31st — less than two weeks away!
Check out my 4 1/2 star review for the film — first screened at 2015’s Screamfest.
