Faces of Snuff
A series of rape, torture, mutilation and death scenes.
Why anyone would release a film like Faces of Snuff is far beyond me. The actual point of the film is also far beyond me. This one travels outside simple shock value and ventures directly into pornographic and profoundly offensive acts. In Faces of Snuff we far surpass shock value, and in looking for an actual surface message or underlying commentary makes for a challenge. It’s impossible to unearth anything other than sadistic perversion. To place an exclamation point on that message I’ll have you know that it isn’t even an actual movie so much as a whole slew of pertinacious shlock that borrows freely from the Faces of Death content while somehow failing at even capitalizing on the exploitation angle.
What we see from the film is a great number of morbid sequences. Included in these sequences are shots of vaginal penetration, oral copulation, fecal consumption, mutilation, beatings, and extended sequences of torture. That’s what the film is… and it all unravels in a sickening loop for two miserable hours.
Now it seems evident that the majority of these clips are of course fake, just actors involved in a miserable gig, but there are a small portion of segments that come across as highly offensive and disturbing to the core; and could potentially be actual acts of violence. What may truly be the worst aspect of the film is that it seems to hold no actual purpose. We gain nothing by watching this picture other than disdain for the morose mind.
It’s a challenge to make it through the film’s two-plus hour duration, it’s even worse to sit here and discuss (I kid you not, I have zero desire to write this review) the picture. It’s disgusting, it tells no story (true story: there’s no plot)… it’s just a handful of sick bastards who felt it would be exciting to show the masses a handful of appalling actions. Enough time has been invested in this review as it is. If you still care to watch this film after reading this, and even worse, you enjoy it… well, there’s probably very little I can say to help you out.
Maybe this: seek professional counseling immediately.
Now I’m off to wash the filth away and hopefully forget this film exists… maybe I can even be so lucky as to forget ever writing this review. This nastiness needs to be done away with, and it can’t happen fast enough.
By the way, you may want to be wary of the company you’re in if you choose to look into the attached trailer. Even that little booger can easily be recognized as offensive and inappropriate. It’s definitely a cut I’d deem not safe for work.
