Amongst a good majority of those in the horror world, Doctor Sleep is the film of the year. Mike Flanagan was able to adapt the King novel, as well as give us a sequel to the Kubrick version of The Shining and pay homage to King’s original novel all at the same time.
It was quite the feat and quite the work of art.
Next year when Doctor Sleep comes home on Blu-Ray and DVD it will be with an extended Director’s Cut.
The new cut will be 3 hours long – that’s 180 minutes – compared to the 152-minute cut that we all saw in theaters. So we are going to be privy to 30 extra minutes of footage from the genius of Mike Flanagan.
The extended cut hits digital platforms (with 4K Streaming) on January 21 and on Blu-ray (with a 4K UHD Theatrical Cut) on February 4th.
