At the end of 2005’s The Devil’s Reject, the entire Firefly Family was blown to smithereens—or were they? (Don’t yell at me about spoilers, the film is over a decade old!) News is coming down the pike that confirms rumors of a possible 3rd Chapter in the franchise launched with House of 1000 Corpses in 2003. Rob Zombie, you Devil you!
Per We Got This Covered:
Rumored to be titled The Devil’s Rejects 2: Three From Hell, [the film] is due to begin filming in March, when Saban Films and Lionsgate will allegedly help develop the horror romp for a multi-platform release (read: theaters, VOD, and home video). That’s not outside the realm of possibility, either, as Rob Zombie collaborated with both companies for the distribution of his crowd-sourced slasher, 31.
Obviously, with the words like “rumored” and “allegedly” this news must be taken with a grain of salt. And even the best-laid plans can go to Hell in a handbasket. Time will tell, and, of course, we’ll keep our ears peeled in order to bring you details as they emerge. Stay tuned!
And for kicks, check out the trailers and synopses for House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects below.
Official Synopsis: An empty fuel tank and a flat tire lead two couples down a terror-riddled road to the House of 1000 Corpses. “House of 1000 Corpses” is at its core a story of family – a cast of twisted individuals who, with each slash of a throat or stab thru the chest, add bodies to their sick human menagerie.
Official Synopsis: After a raid on the rural home of the psychopathic Firefly family, two members of the clan, Otis (Bill Moseley) and Baby (Sheri Moon Zombie), manage to flee the scene. Heading to a remote desert motel, the killers reunite with Baby’s father, Capt. Spaulding (Sid Haig), who is equally demented and intent on maintaining their murder spree. While the trio continues to torment and kill various victims, the vengeful Sheriff Wydell (William Forsythe) slowly closes in on them.
Both films star Sid Haig, Bill Moseley, and Sheri Moon Zombie.
