Danny McBride may seem like an odd fit for Ridley Scott’s upcoming Prometheus sequel/Alien prequel, Alien: Covenant, but he’s a talented guy who should provide us with a hint of comedic relief in a few tense moments. We don’t get a lot of that from the Alien franchise, so, it could be a cool spin on things.
Whether you’re a huge fan of McBride’s work or not, he’s got a charismatic nature about him that is rarely rivalled and we’re going to see that in action, in the Alien universe very soon. For now, you’ll have to settle for an image captured on set of McBride and Scott, chatting up some horrific space stuff while filming the new flick.
Noomi Rapace returns as Elizabeth Shaw, Michael Fassbender also reprises the role of the android, David.
Katherine Waterston (Michael Clayton, Steve Jobs), Demian Bichir (The Hateful Eight, The Heat), Billy Crudup (Almost Famous, Watchmen), Danny McBride (Pineapple Express, This is the End), Jussie Smollett (The Mighty Ducks, North), Carmen Ejogo (The Purge: Anarchy, Selma), Amy Seimetz (You’re Next, The Sacrament), and Callie Hernandez (Machete Kills, The Woods) round out the primary cast.
Alien: Covenant will be released on August 4th, 2017.
