It’s always a great day when the horror world and the realm of comic books collide. It’s an even great day when those two worlds come together and we get a new TV show or film. Such is the case with Cullen Bunn and Jack T. Cole’s THE UNSOUND.
Netflix has garnered the feature film rights to the graphic novel which will be penned by Skylar James and directed by David F Sandberg. Sandberg burst on the scene when he was a finalist in the Bloody Cuts Horror Challenge where he won Best Director for the short film, LIGHTS OUT.
Since then, Sandberg has gone on to direct a feature-length version of LIGHTS OUT, ANNABELLE CREATION and DC’s SHAZAM. He will be also be serving as a producer with his wife and business partner Lotta Listen under their production company Mangata.
The Unsound takes place in the fictional Saint Cascia Psychiatric Hospital where a young nurse named Ashli finds herself in a nightmare after a riot sends her fleeing into the bowels of the asylum were she encounters lunatics and monsters, cloaked in a secret history of black magic and heinous scientific experiments.
No word on when the production will begin on the project, but stay glued to Horror Freak News for all the updates on The Unsound.
