Fans of The Conjuring and psychological thrillers in the vein of Goodnight Mommy will definitely want to peep this crazy scary trailer for Bethany, the latest film from writer/director James Cullen Bressack (Hate Crime, 2012). It features a couple of unlikely actors from the 1990s in starring roles: Tom Green and Shannen Doherty! But Bethany is no joke; see for yourself (hopefully you aren’t eating a bowl of cereal!).
Official Synopsis: Claire and her husband find themselves moving back into Claire’s childhood home only to have the abusive and traumatic memories of her mother come back to haunt her. As her husband starts to get more work, Claire finds herself mixed up in a fog of past and present with a mysterious figure haunting her memories. What is this small figure that is trying to reach out to her, and what does it want?
Green previously spoke of his involvement, and how this project differs from his past performances: “I’ve obviously done a lot of outrageous characters and ridiculous things in my TV show, and this is a more serious role,” he said.
Look for Bethany on VOD and in theaters on April 7th via Uncork’d; the film also stars Stefanie Estes and Zack Ward.
Doherty recently announced that she will have a part on the Heathers TV series currently in the works at TV Land.
