If you’re a Horror Freak like me, you miss weekly dinners with Dr. Hannibal Lecter since NBC cancelled the series based on The Silence of the Lambs and other works featuring everyone’s favorite gentleman cannibal. An integral part of each episode was when Hannibal (played by Mads Mikkelsen) prepared a sumptuous feast for his guests. We’d sit back and watch in horror as characters were made unwitting cannibals.
At the same time, fans of the series have long marveled at how delicious the dishes featured in Hannibal appeared. Heck, even I’d been willing to nibble on some of those mouthwatering vittles! Well now we can with Feeding Hannibal: A Connoisseur’s Cookbook! The cookbook was created by show consultants and culinary masterminds Janice Poon and award-winning chef José Andrés.
EW recently reviewed Feeding Hannibal and even released one of the featured recipes:
Now, EW is excited to exclusively share one of the recipes for hart tartare tarts that were featured in “Futamono,” season 2, episode 6. As shown in the book, Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen) served the dish at a dinner party that featured FBI Agent Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne) as a guest. Don’t worry: the Feeding Hannibal recipe involves veal heart, not man’s.
Is anyone else getting hungry?
