It’s been almost exactly a month since original Child’s Play scribe Don Mancini announced that “Chucky is finally coming home”; meaning: Child’s Play 7 is in the works, and it looks to pick up right where Curse of Chucky left off in 2013. To recap:
Rumors of Chucky 7 have swirled for the better part of a year, but this is the first solid confirmation we’ve gotten that the project is movie forward. Mancini also tagged Alex Vincent, the actor who played original Chucky nemesis, young Andy Barclay, in Child’s Play and Child’s Play 2 (with an after credits cameo in 2013’s Curse); this indicates the director is working towards integrating the mythologies of all the previous Chucky movies.
Mancini whipped fans into a frenzy with another Tweet yesterday, one that showed the location of the film’s production office in Winnipeg:
A film doesn’t get a production office unless it’s moving full steam ahead, so I’m predicting we might actually see a finished product before 2018 (but don’t hold me to it!).
In Curse of Chucky (the 6th Chapter in the Child’s Play franchise): After her mother’s mysterious death, Nica begins to suspect that the talking, red-haired doll her visiting niece has been playing with may be the key to recent bloodshed and chaos.
