Andy Muschietti’s IT is currently kicking ass and taking names by breaking all box office records, but the story of Pennywise isn’t the only clown-themed horror movie set to rock the masses this month. Crepitus, featuring Bill Moseley, arrives in limited theaters on VOD this Friday, October 15th. What we’ve seen so far is scary as hell, so if clown-centric horror is your thang, this is a film you won’t want to miss.
Moseley is an indie horror icon who has, for years, seemed poised for mainstream, breakout success. Genre aficionados probably know him best as Chop Top from Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 and Otis Firefly in Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects. Today, we’re stoked to bring you the latest trailer for Crepitus, in which Moseley plays a child-eating clown; have a watch below and let us know what you think in the Comments section!
Official Synopsis: Seventeen-year-old Elizabeth and her younger sister Sam are thrust into circumstances more terrifying than life with their abusive, drunken mother when they are forced to move into their deceased Grandfather’s house. Frightened beyond belief, they are forced to learn horrible things about their family history. Never mind the ghosts in the house, there is something far worse that takes an interest in them … a cannibalistic clown named Crepitus.
Crepitus is directed by Haynze Whitmore based on a script penned by Eddie Renner and Sarah Renner (aka Sarah Von Kluck). In addition to Moseley, the film stars Eve Mauro, Taya Parker, and Chalet Lizette Brannan.
