The trailer for Annabelle: Creation dropped yesterday, and it had me jumping out of my seat—twice! The film, directed by David F. Sandberg (Lights Out) from a script by Gary Dauberman (IT, 2017), haunts US Theaters on August 11th. If you think you’ve got the muster, turn out the lights, strap on the headphones, and take a look of the terror that awaits us. I dare you!
Official Synopsis: Several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the dollmaker’s possessed creation, Annabelle.
Annabelle: Creation stars Stephanie Sigman (SPECTRE), Talitha Bateman (The 5th Wave), Lulu Wilson (Ouija: Origin of Evil, Deliver Us from Evil), Philippa Coulthard (After the Dark), Grace Fulton (Badland), Lou Lou Safran (The Choice), Samara Lee (Foxcatcher, The Last Witch Hunter), Tayler Buck in her feature film debut, with Anthony LaPaglia (Without a Trace) and Miranda Otto (Homeland, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy). Body actor Javier Botet (Mama, Crimson Peak) is also listed on the film’s IMDB page.
The nun in the trailer/synopsis makes me wonder if Annabelle: Creation will include a tie-in to the next Conjuring spinoff, The Nun. Currently in production at New Line under the direction of Corin Hardy, the plot for The Nun is being kept closely under wraps. Perhaps this is intentional, with plans to reveal the connection between the characters when Annabelle: Creation hits US Theaters on August 11th.
