It wasn’t long ago that we were discussing the long lost hospital scene from Hellbound: Hellraiser II. Images from the set eventually made their way to the public, but when the film arrived, the entire sequence was nowhere to be found. And thus the legend of the lost Hellraiser II scene was born.
What became of the unseen footage? Rumors long swirled that the shot was never finished, and thus would not ever see official release. Months back rumors came to life that the scene was indeed shot, and that consumers would soon be able to see the footage on the “Scarlet Box” set of the first three Hellraiser films.
Well, The Scarlet Box is a UK exclusive, so many of us won’t ever touch such a prize. But we will see the footage, right now.
Keep in mind the footage you’re about to look at isn’t entirely complete. The look is rough, and the audio is rough, but… it’s here. And it’s worth a look!
Here’s the Hellbound: Hellraiser II synopsis: Doctor Channard is sent a new patient, a girl warning of the terrible creatures that have destroyed her family, Cenobites who offer the most intense sensations of pleasure and pain. But Channard has been searching for the doorway to Hell for years, and Kirsty must follow him to save her father and witness the power struggles among the newly damned.
