American Horror Story showrunner Ryan Murphy and fan favorite Jessica Lange have reteamed for the first season of Feud, an anthology series with the goal of exploring some of history’s most horrifying inter-personal conflicts. Season 1 premieres this Sunday and will document the long-running hostilities between Joan Crawford and Betty Davis. Check out a trailer for Feud below:
Official Synopsis: FEUD: Bette and Joan, the first installment of Ryan Murphy’s FX anthology series, centers on the legendary rivalry between Joan Crawford (Jessica Lange) and Bette Davis (Susan Sarandon) during the filming of What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? and after filming ended. It explores how the two endured ageism, sexism, and misogyny while struggling to hang on to their careers. Premieres Mar. 5th

Even though no one outside of the production has seen the final product yet, executives at FX are so confident in the new series, they have already greenlit Season 2 with the goal of airing it in early 2018. What’s more, Murphy has already revealed the feuding duo he will feature in Season 2: Prince Charles and Princess Diana.
The order puts Feud on an adversarial collision course of its own — with Netflix’s fall breakout British royal family drama The Crown. If all goes according to plan, The Crown will introduce its version of Lady Diana in season 3, which is expected in 2018. Feud: Charles and Diana will also debut in 2018. Murphy certainly has his plate full over at FX. First up is Feud: Bette and Joan, which stars Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon as Joan Crawford and Bette Davis, respectively, and debuts Sunday night.
