The week ended with a double-dose of Alien: Covenant promos in the form of another striking poster and a preview of Empire Magazine’s May issue, which highlights Swiss surrealist H.R. Giger’s incomparable contributions to the iconic Alien aesthetic.
First, the poster: Another one out of Korea, where excitement for the Prometheus-sequel is also running high. It features all of the soon-to-be iconic Covenant imagery along with the classic Xenomorph profile. The viscous drool is a bit of sci-fi horror perfection!

Next, Empire’s subscribers got a limited edition cover for the Magazine’s May issue; if they turned this into a poster, I’d be first in line to snap one up. It’s a beautiful modernization of Giger’s pioneering biomechanical designs that have become an integral component of the Alien franchise’s formula.
Designed by graphic designer Jacey, the cover features Scott’s fearful creature in gorgeously-designed embossed cardboard, featuring the famous quote from the original film: “Unclouded by conscience, remorse, or delusions of morality…” Subscribers should be getting their copies any day now; for the rest of you, the new issue of Empire arrives in all good and evil newsagents from Thursday 20 April, with that cover still to be revealed.
