Creepypasta fans have long been clamoring for a feature film based on the genre’s king, Slender Man (aka Slenderman). Last January, we told you about a Slender Man film in the works at Screen Gems; to recap:
EXCLUSIVE: Sylvain White has been set to direct Slender Man, the Screen Gems thriller that will begin production by the spring. White made his feature directing debut with Screen Gems on the sleeper hit Stomp the Yard, and also directed The Losers. Scripted by David Birke, Slender Man revolves around a tall, thin horrifying figure with unnaturally long arms and a featureless fact, who is reputed to be responsible for the haunting and disappearance of countless children and teens.

We haven’t heard anything else regarding the progress of this project, but fans of Slender Man were given a feature of sorts: A documentary about a crime supposedly committed in an attempt to curry favor with the faceless, tentacled fiend. Slender Man may still be a rare occurrence character in mainstream cinema, but the fictitious kidnapper actively prowls the Internet in fan art and short films.
One of the most popular, Victim, has now been viewed over 1M times since it appeared on YouTube in 2013. Filmmaker Eddie Adamson created the short film for a college project in Creative Media Production, and it stars Jake Holmes and Jordan Scott. Adamson states: “My film is based around a teenage boy who finds himself being stalked by the mythical being Slender Man over a period of days. It has been heavily inspired by the game Slender by Parsec Productions, as well as many horror films I have been influenced by.
