Marilyn Manson is known for delivering shocking live performances, filled with chaos and mayhem. In the past, the rocker has purposely slashed his body and performed un-simulated sex acts on stage. In more recent years, the artist’s well-documented affinity for drugs and alcohol has led to some unintentional slips and tumbles, resulting in a variety of minor to moderate injuries.
Last night, however, the singer’s hijinks nearly ended his life!

While performing at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom, Manson began climbing a stage prop, a sculpture of two humongous guns, when the entire structure fell on top of him. You can see everything in the video below; after the guns fall directly on top of him, it takes several roadies to pull it off. You can also see other stunned roadies looking at Manson, clearly uncertain how to proceed. It might be humorous if it wasn’t an actual near-death experience!
After suffering injuries during a performance in New York, Marilyn Manson has postponed nine October dates of his “Heaven Upside Down” tour. Boston, Chicago, Toronto, and Houston are among the tour stops canceled with plans to reschedule. The tour is expected to continue on October 15 in Grand Prarie, Texas as scheduled.
We wish Manson a speedy recovery; perhaps the 48-year old actor will learn to take things a bit easier in the future—he’s not a young man anymore!
