Full Disclosure: This isn’t a new video, but with other prank videos based The Ring circulating in advance of The Rings US release in February, it seemed like the perfect time to revisit on man’s especially evil brand of trickery!
Back in 2013, James Williams wanted to play a “wake up” joke on his girlfriend, who often fell asleep in front of the television. The horror fan decided to tap into his better half’s fear of the fiendish Samara from The Ring franchise, creating an elaborate puppet that appeared to be emerging from the TV screen. See the “fun” for yourself below, but be warned: This video gets loud!
The results: “I didn’t expect her to react like that,” Williams later said. “I thought she’s (sic) scream, then realize it was me joking around. I felt quite bad after. I also had my mother ring me, early Saturday morning worried about her and told me she wanted to punch my fucking face in.” (Source)
Yesterday, entertainment outlets released a prank video (below) of Samara harassing television shoppers; it’s pretty damn funny!
