Last month, we showed you an amazingly detailed infographic that showed how many of Stephen King’s stories are connected in a shared universe. Created by King uber-fan Tessiegirl , readers were amazed at the thoroughness of flowchart and many wished they could purchase it in poster form. Well good news: We just got word from Tessiegirl that her amazing creation has been updated, and is now available for purchase at her Etsy store! Check it out:
Tessiegirl’s chart (above) packs the information of a graduate thesis into a single diagram that will enchant new and old-school Stephen King fans alike. She explains her motivations on her website, where The Stephen King Universe Flowchart was first published in 2013.
“As I have mentioned before, when I was in Grade Five, I borrowed a battered paperback copy of ‘Carrie’ from my friend Tarnya Smyth (who stole it from her mum). I was totally hooked and under the spell of Stephen King and his characters from that moment.”
Reviewing the flowchart reveals, for example, that King’s stories that take place in Castle Rock include Cujo, The Dark Half, IT, Needful Things, The Body, The Dead Zone, Bag of Bones, and The Shawshank Redemption.
The flowchart can be a useful guide for King fans looking to explore particular threads, a not just the stories that take place in Castle Rock. You can also identify tales that take place in Derry and those that unfold at Hemmingford Home. The chart includes character cross-overs and even references that pop up between seemingly disparate sagas. You can also use it to play a Six-Degrees-of-Separation style game in an attempt to connect one story to another.
