I’ve just seen—I don’t know what I’ve just seen! Deadline just dropped the trailer for the debut feature from Flying Lotus, Kuso; it’s brilliant and unsettling and madcap and I think I love it! Rather than try to recap the high-caliber pandemonium, it’s best for you to just have a look for yourself!
Official synopsis: Broadcasting through a makeshift network of discarded televisions, Kuso is tangled up in the aftermath of Los Angeles’ worst quake nightmare. Travel between screens and between aftershocks into the twisted lives of the survived.
Per Deadline:
Premiering on January 21 in the Sundance Film Festival’s Midnight slate, Kuso goes deep and vividly into the aftermath of a devastating earthquake that hits L.A. But that’s just where the fever dream movie from Steve Ellison and Brainfeeder Films starts. The lift-off is the real ride.
Along with the Funkadelic leader [George Clinton], Kuso also stars comedian Hannibal Buress plus Iesha Coston, Zack Fox, The Buttress and Tim Heidecker – all of who except the Broad City regular are expected to be at the film’s premiere Saturday night at the Egyptian Theatre on Park City’ Main Street.
